SoFiA National Conference 2006

22-24 September at Dunmore Lang College, Macquarrie University in Sydney, organised by members of the Sydney 'Bondi' SoF group. Keynote speakers were (L to R) Stephanie Dowrick, Michael Morwood, Don Cupitt and Lloyd Geering. (2006-7 SoFiA President Scott McKenzie is at the lectern.)

Aboriginal Spirituality: The Importance of Place
5 – 7 May 2006, organised by members of the Brisbane Chermside SoF Group. The venue was the Minjerribah Centre at Dunwich, and the program on Aboriginal Spirituality focused on the example of the Noonukul/Quandamooka people. The main presenters were Dr Penny Tripcony and Mrs Evelyn Parkin, both members of the Quandamooka people (as was Conference Convenor Joanne Claybourn).

Tolerance
3 - 5 June 2005, organised by members of the
Gold Coast SoF Group. Held at the Theosophical Education & Retreat Centre at Springbrook, the weekend featured an address by the Rev. Dr Gregory Jenks, joint Co-ordinator of Spiritual Development at Forest Lake College and executive director of the FaithFutures Foundation.


Perth One Day Conference 2005 
The End of Faith?: Alternatives to Fundamentalism
3 September 2005, organised by members of the
Mt Claremont Group. Held at the Wollaston College, Mt Claremont, the day featured talks by Dr Nigel Leaves (author of Odyssey on the Sea of Faith and Surfing on the Sea of Faith), Burnard Morey (University of the Third Age lecturer) and John Shepherd (Dean of St George's Anglican Cathedral).


South East Queensland SoF Conference 2004
Make, Believe
April 30 - May 3, 2004, organised by members of the Brisbane Brookfield SoF Group. It was held at the Maroochy Coach House in Maroochydore on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Speakers included Noel Cheer of the NZ SoF Network and religious journalist and playwright Alison Cotes.

Where to Now With Religion?

17-19 September, 2004, organised by members of the Perth Mt Claremont SoF Group. The venue was the Wollaston Conference Centre at Mt Claremont in Perth. 

Keynote speakers were (R to L in the photo) UK theologian-philosopher Don Cupitt ('What's Happening to Religion?'), Australian broadcaster/author Rachael Kohn ('The God-Self: A Cautionary Tale') and UK broadcaster/author David Boulton ('The Republic of Heaven').
